Our Commitment to Privacy

It is of utmost importance to us that the privacy and confidentiality of our customers' personal information is fully protected. In order to provide efficient and effective delivery of electricity and water services, our business processes require the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. We take the obligation seriously to protect our customers' privacy.

Collus PowerStream and the Collingwood Public Utilities treat all Personal Information as confidential. We have established a joint privacy policy to inform employees, customers, subcontractors and stakeholders of our commitment and to recognize our obligations. A privacy notice was recently sent to customers, informing them of our policies; it reviewed the personal information we collect, how it is used, how we protect its confidentiality and your rights in respect of this information.

Our customers should understand that there may be a need for us to disclose summary information obtained by combining data from many accounts. We will ensure that the data is sufficiently aggregated so that any personal identifiers cannot reasonably be identified. Please note Collus PowerStream encrypts all data submitted through its online forms.

The latest revisions to privacy policy and processes for our organizations came into effect on January 1, 2004. Collus PowerStream and the Collingwood Public Utilities reserve the right to amend this policy at any time. Please check the page periodically for changes.
